1. A: A Frozen Drink Machine is piece of equipment that has a variety of uses. First and foremost, it acts as a "mini freezer". A condenser, an evaporator and a compressor. All three have their specific functions, however, they combine their functions to remove heat from the frozen drink mix product which produces a slush product which make frozen drinks.

2. A: No, a margarita machine is not a blender (with or without legs). You can't place chunks of ice, fruit or anything else of this type in the machine without it breaking the auger (the device that churns or twirls the slush product). The idea of the frozen beverage machine is to churn the smoothie or cocktail mix over the evaporator (cooling drum) so that it speeds the freezing process.

We have a few margarita machines that do require a waterline, however they are used in high volume commercial applications. Again, if the mix that you make at home (or at your restaurant) contains too much water, ice chunks can form that get caught in the augers of your frozen drink machine. This can cause sever damage, and void your warranty. How are they different? The main reason is TASTE. We pride ourselves in providing the best tasting frozen drink mix product.

Another difference is Icee® and Slurpee® are Frozen Carbonated Beverages. That means that when they melt, the ratio of air to product is 90% air and 10% product. Basically you are paying for AIR. Our product is more dense and our ratio is 10% air and 90% product. You get more for your money with our frozen drink mix.

Another difference in our ChillyFruit® line of frozen drinks and those of Icee®, Slurpee® and Slush Puppie® is that we have less sugar, more real juice content and better taste. Icee® and Slurpee® have no real juice content.
